 REQUIREMENT BRIEF

A modern bistro serving the hip metropolitan crowd of Delhi, was to have eclectic and unusual elements sprucing up the interiors. The appeal different yet not outlandish meant the clients wanted to go offbeat from the current trend of exposed brick, rugged texture and concrete combined with distressed finishes which is a partake of almost all cafes or bistros in the city. The idea was to have a chic space which appealed to all ages especially their target crowd of seasoned lawyers residing in the vicinity.

 OUTCOME

Keeping up with the brief, a material palette combining the followed was catalogued, bottle green fabrics and wall paints, matt gold metal works, dark rosewood, mirrors and cane mesh. The juxtaposition of these on various surfaces resulted in a space exuberating elegance. To incur an earthy touch greens were hung out on the windows in full view from the inside. The design constituted of circular windows which are reflected in the circular mirrors right opposite them. The effect is that of never-ending views of plantation and sparkly interiors from all angles. Like its name, Olio (a spicy Spanish meat and Vegetable Stew) the café interiors offer spice and all things nice, an immaculate backdrop to memorable food and relaxed reunions.
